Registration:
How is acceptance and scholarship decision made?
If I apply and get awarded, will I be able to apply for scholarship in another one of your other program also?
If I am offered a scholarship am I also eligible for financial aid?
How can I get a refund for my $75 registration fee?
Will I get my $75 registration fee back if I receive full scholarship or financial aid?
I am confused about Enrollment Agreement signing process.
- Student will need to enter his/her own official name and email address, and their parent’s official name and email address.
- Student will review and sign the contract without closing out of his/her window (it takes only a few minutes to sign and this completes the Student’s part)
- Parents check their email, open and review the Enrollment Agreement, and sign the counter part. (the entire process would take no more than 10 minutes for the Parent depending on the level of detailed the information about the kids they want to provide)
- Enrollment Agreement is now complete!
- Both student and parent will receive a copy of the completed agreement by email for their own record.
Travel, Food & Accommodation:
What will I need to travel to China?
- A valid passport with more than six months of expiration after the end of the Program (February 24, 2019). You will need a valid passport to apply for a China visa
- Tourist visa of China. For our U.S. students you are welcome to reach out to our recommended U.S. travel agent company, please see below for further details. We will send out official visa invitation letters to accepted students as supportive document to be included in your visa application.
Where can I get more information about the visa?
Where will I be staying? What is the surrounding environment of the hotel and the summit venue?
Additional details can be found here
What are the hotel accommodations like?
Travel, Food & Accommodation:
If I reside in the host country or I have friends/relatives that I can stay with in the host country during the duration of the Summit, may I commute to/from the venue?
Should I bring a charger adapter for my electronics? What type?
There are a variety of plugs found in China, but the 220V 50Hz electrical current stays the same. Below is the most common types of electrical outlets you’ll find in China:
INSERT PICTURE
If you find that you have a device rated for 220V or 240V that won’t fit any of these plugs (which is often the case for travelers from Europe), you’ll want to spring for a simple travel plug converter (not a power converter, which is detailed below). These are usually light and very portable.
When it comes to charging your phone, laptop or camera in China, most modern electronic chargers are rated for both 110V and 220V which means that you won’t have to purchase any particular adapter or power converter.
What is the weather like in Beijing, China during February?
How much money should I bring with me?
We don’t recommend bringing more than RMB $1000 (USD $150 or the equivalent in your country’s currency) as tipping/gratuity is not obligated in China. Majority of tourist attraction locations do accept Visa and Mastercard credit cards (American Express and Discover are less popular). Should you decide to bring a credit card, please don’t forget to inform your bank of possible foreign transactions from China.
Are there additional fees beyond the indicated trip cost?
How can my parents contact me in China?
You can communicate with your parents through Slack or Wechat while you are in China. Sheraton Hotel provides free Wi-Fi. You can also purchase international roaming pass from your cell phone carrier to ensure a seamless communication.
Safety:
Is it safe to travel to China?
“China, one of the largest and most popular tourist destinations around the world, is, by and large, a very safe and welcoming place to travel around.”
