AP Language and Composition

This course will help students prepare for the three-hour AP Language and Composition exam offered by the College Board in early May. The exam tests students’ ability to read and analyze rhetorical elements and their effects in nonfiction texts, as well as their capacity to develop evidence-based argumentative writing. The three-hour test consists of 45 multiple choice questions and three free-response questions on synthesis, rhetorical analysis, and argument. This course will give students an overview of the exam, review testing tips and strategies, and provide opportunities to practice and discuss multiple choice questions and essay prompts from College Board-released exams and a reputable AP test prep book.
