AP Microeconomics

This course is designed for students who plan to take an AP Microeconomics course and exam in the future but have not studied Microeconomics prior to this course. This course will provide an overview of the major topics and themes in Microeconomics, as well as practice with skills used on the AP exam, including multiple choice questions and free response questions.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Understand and solve questions related to the fundamental economic concepts such as scarcity, opportunity costs, and production possibility frontier
  • Understand and explain market demand, market supply, and market equilibrium
  • Understand and explain elasticity and its applications
  • Understand and explain what makes a market efficient
  • Explain why a government might intervene in the market and how
  • Understand consumer and firms’ behavior and firms’ behavior
  • Understand firms’ production costs
  • Understand different market structures
  • Understand factor markets

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Fully understand the key concepts in Microeconomics
  • Solve AP-style multiple choice questions with high accuracy
  • Use graphs, words, and math to solve free response AP questions effectively
  • Be well-prepared for the AP Microeconomics exam

Prof. Li loves economics and is enthusiastic in teaching economics. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Texas at Dallas, and has over ten years of experience teaching economics courses at various universities. Until now, he has taught or tutored various ECON courses, such as AP Micro, AP Macro, Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Microeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomic, Urban economics, International Economics, Labor Economics, game theory, Basic Techniques for Economic Research, etc. He looks forward to sharing insights into economics with you in this course.
